Worldwide, 20,000 brands of beer are brewed in 180 styles, from ales, lagers, pilsner and stouts to bitters, cream ales and iced beers. Beer has been a popular beverage for a long time. But there is something unusual happening in the USA…Traditionally marathon runners quench their thirst with water, but a group in Arizona tried out a different beverage, beer. It's called the "30 Pack Marathon" where participants do a lap, then drink a beer. This process repeated to test how far they can get. A group call the "Hashers" record the runners number of laps, number of beers, drinking time per beer. An even thought it was 85 degrees and not the healthiest thing to do, runners were enthusiastic. The marathon was 26.2 miles with most runners only completing four or five miles, and yes there was plenty of water on site as well as a fair share of people throwing up.
